    TEACHER

    1st grade
I earned my BA in Human Resources from Arizona State University. My MA in Education: Curriculum and Instruction is from the University of Denver, CO. I have also completed my endorsement in Linguistically Diverse Education as part of a BVSD/CU cohort. I am awaiting the results for National Board Certification after completing the requirements last year. I have taught first grade, second grade, fourth grade, and fifth grade in Boulder Valley Schools. I am excited to return to the intermediate level at Whittier!

While language arts is a particular interest of mine, I really enjoy teaching all subjects. The challenge of integrating instructional materials is exciting while keeping pace with ever-changing world events and advances in education.
I am a bit of a sports nut and like exploring new challenges. Some of these are playing roller hockey, riding my bike on the trails and roads of Colorado, skiing, attempting a triathlon or two each year, and officiating lacrosse. Reading is a tremendous joy, although there is often not much time during the school year to sit back with a good book. I have dabbled with learning guitar, and would love to spend more time on that. I love to travel with my wife, Holly. We have explored many parts of the world and are always on the lookout for a new adventure!
