    5th grade
I currently hold a Masters in Elementary Education from Regis University, a license as a Special Educator Generalist, an endorsement in Social Studies (K-12), and a BA in History from the University of Utah. Before becoming an BVSD educator, I worked in the outdoor industry in marketing and as a guide leading mountaineering and trekking expeditions in the remote mountain ranges of Nepal, Peru, and Argentina.
After living in the Whittier Community for years, and having first hand classroom experience at Whittier International School via our two children, I was inspired to be an official part of the learning process. I am constantly moved by the wonderful diversity, dedication, and world view our students and staff possess. My strengths as an educator include the desire to build authentic and lasting rapport with my students in order to make essential connections, recognize and support student's learning styles, and in building a warm and successful classroom environment. I love being around youthful and inquiring energy and hold a deep belief that we all have a responsibility to help shape educated, compassionate, creative, and engaged citizens.  When not teaching, my focus revolves around spending time in the outdoors with my family of four hiking, climbing, camping, fly-fishing, skiing, and running in the hills above our amazing town
