I feel very at home here as I am
from Boulder (on Spruce street). I moved to Portland, Oregon for college at
Lewis & Clark, and stayed for there for ten years. While there, I got my
masters in teaching, taught Spanish for one year, and fourth grade for two
years. I also taught for a year in Mexico, and have lived in Spain, Chile, and
the Dominican Republic. I returned in 2006 to Boulder and worked for two years
as an ELD (ESL) teacher in Northglenn. In 2008 I came to Whittier and joined
the fourth grade team for six years. Now I'm back in ELD and loving working
with every grade.
My number one goal in the classroom is to provide an environment where
children feel safe, enjoy learning and feel good about themselves. My passions
for Spanish and different cultures are a natural fit in our IB school. Out of
school, I enjoy gardening, cooking, singing, and hiking.
